What instruments and gear can CF-80 work with?

The CF-80 is made for guitar and bass first, but it can also work with other gear that uses a standard mono TS 1/4 inch connection.

CFG Cable Free Guitar SonikSphere 5.8GHz wireless system for electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitar, keyboard, and electronic drums

This is for instrument-level connections. Do not use the CF-80 as a speaker cable replacement between an amp head and a speaker cabinet. That is a different kind of signal, and your gear will not enjoy that adventure.

Which CFG wireless system fits your setup?

CF-80 is the everyday 2.4GHz value pick. SonikSphere is the 5.8GHz option with 24-bit/48kHz audio. UHF NEXUS is the UHF option for busier stages, more distance, and fast guitar swaps.

What charger should I use with CF-80?

Use only a 5V/5W/1A charger with the CF-80.

Higher voltage or higher wattage chargers may damage the unit and void the warranty. The included Y-split USB cable lets you charge the transmitter and receiver together, but the wall charger still needs to match the correct rating.

Simple rule: old-school low-power USB charger, yes. Fast charger, power brick, turbo charger, or mystery drawer monster, no thanks.

What comes in the CF-80 box?

The CF-80 full system includes the transmitter, receiver, charging cable, and owner’s manual.

  • 1 CF-80 transmitter: plugs into your guitar, bass, or compatible mono TS instrument output.
  • 1 CF-80 receiver: plugs into your amp, pedalboard, modeler, audio interface, or compatible instrument-level input.
  • 1 Y-split USB charging cable: charges both units from one suitable USB charger.
  • 1 owner’s manual: setup, pairing, channel switching, and charging guidance.

CF-80 FAQ

Does the CF-80 work with bass?

Yes. The CF-80 is made for both guitar and bass, with a wide 10Hz-22kHz frequency response that helps keep low-end playing clear and natural. It also works with many other instruments that use a standard 1/4 inch mono TS output.

Will I hear latency or delay while playing?

The CF-80 has under 4ms latency, so it feels immediate for normal playing, practice, rehearsals, church sets, and smaller gigs.

Can I use the CF-80 with pedals, modelers, or an audio interface?

Yes. Plug the transmitter into your guitar or bass, then plug the receiver into your amp, pedalboard input, modeler, mixer, or audio interface. If you use pedals, the CF-80 usually goes where your regular guitar cable would go.

Does the CF-80 work with active pickups or piezo systems?

Usually, yes. Most active guitars and basses work fine. If your instrument has very hot active electronics, piezo circuitry, or a tight/recessed jack that causes noise or poor fit, use the Air-Pocket Transmitter Holster to move the transmitter away from the instrument body.

Can multiple CF-80 systems be used at the same time?

Yes. The CF-80 supports up to 4 sets at the same time. For best results, put each system on a different channel and keep the units a few feet apart when possible, especially in rooms with Wi-Fi and other wireless gear nearby.

How long does the battery last?

The CF-80 runs up to 8 hours per charge and includes a Y-split USB cable so you can charge the transmitter and receiver together.

What charger should I use?

Use only a 5V/5W/1A USB charger. Higher-voltage or high-wattage fast chargers can damage the battery and may void the warranty.

Should I choose CF-80, SonikSphere, or UHF NEXUS?

Choose CF-80 if you want the best-value everyday wireless system for home, practice, jams, and smaller gigs. Choose SonikSphere if you want 5.8GHz wireless with 24-bit/48kHz audio. Choose UHF NEXUS if you play busier stages and want stronger UHF stage performance.
