CFG FAQs

Quick answers about CFG wireless guitar systems, wireless XLR mic systems, Zero-Gravity straps, mini amps, compatibility, shipping, returns, warranty, and support.

What is CFG?

CFG, short for Cable Free Guitar, is a musician-focused gear brand built around one simple idea: make playing easier, cleaner, and more comfortable. We make wireless systems, Zero-Gravity straps, mini amps, headphones, strap locks, stands, cases, and other practical gear for guitarists, bassists, and working musicians.

What kind of players is CFG gear made for?

CFG gear is made for real players: home players, weekend warriors, gigging musicians, worship teams, teachers, studio players, and anyone tired of cable mess, sore shoulders, awkward practice setups, or gear that makes life harder than it should.

Which CFG wireless system should I choose?

Choose CF-80 if you want a simple, affordable 2.4GHz wireless system for everyday playing. Choose SonikSphere if you want 5.8GHz wireless, 24-bit/48kHz audio, 6 channels, and up to 8 hours of play time. Choose UHF NEXUS if you play on busier stages and want UHF 657-663 MHz, 7 channels, under 2ms latency, and up to 165 ft open-air range. Choose XL-aiR if you want to turn a standard XLR dynamic microphone into a wireless mic setup.

Do CFG wireless systems work with bass?

Yes. CFG wireless systems are designed for guitar and bass. All models also work with other instruments that use a standard 1/4-inch mono TS output, such as acoustic-electric instruments, keyboards, and e-drums. Check the specific product page if your setup is unusual.

Can I use CFG wireless with pedals, modelers, or active pickups?

Yes. In most setups, plug the transmitter into your instrument and the receiver into your amp, pedalboard, modeler, or audio interface. Active pickups usually work fine. If you have very hot active electronics, piezo systems, or a tight/recessed jack, the CFG Air-Pocket holster can help with fit and spacing.

Does CFG make a wireless system for microphones?

Yes. XL-aiR is a UHF wireless XLR system made for standard dynamic microphones. It is built for singers, speakers, churches, interviews, mobile creators, live sound users, and anyone who wants a cleaner mic setup without dragging an XLR cable across the floor.

Does XL-aiR work with condenser microphones?

No. XL-aiR is made for standard XLR dynamic microphones only and does not provide phantom power. It is also for mic-level signals only, so do not use it with line-level or speaker-level outputs.

What are Zero-Gravity straps?

CFG Zero-Gravity straps are wide, padded guitar and bass straps designed to spread instrument weight more comfortably across your shoulder. They are made for heavy instruments, long sets, shoulder pressure, and players who would rather play music than wrestle a boat anchor.

What is the difference between the regular Zero-Gravity strap and ZERO-G Pro?

The regular Zero-Gravity strap is the comfort-first classic. ZERO-G Pro is the upgraded version with larger 3D air-cell padding, reinforced vegan ends, stronger materials, upgraded hardware, and a lifetime warranty against defects.

What are CFG mini amps made for?

CFG mini amps are made for quick practice, couch jams, travel, lessons, backstage warmups, and low-volume playing. TuneBomb is the bigger 10W guitar and bass option with 5 amp modes, built-in effects, drum grooves, Bluetooth, USB recording, and headphone practice.

How fast does CFG ship?

Orders ship from CFG’s Savannah, GA premises. Estimated delivery is 2-5 business days for the continental USA, 5-21 business days for Hawaii and Alaska, 14-21 business days for Canada, and 14-28 business days for the rest of the world.

What warranty and returns does CFG offer?

Most CFG products include a 2-year warranty. ZERO-G Pro strap is the exception, with a lifetime guarantee for as long as you own it. CFG also offers 30-day returns or exchanges. US returns are free with a prepaid return label when the item meets the return policy conditions.

What should I do if I need help choosing or troubleshooting a product?

Contact CFG support and tell us what instrument, amp, pedals, or setup you are using. For technical issues, a short video usually helps us spot the problem faster. Less guesswork, faster fix, fewer gear gremlins.
